Dear Chamber Members,

I am honored to serve as the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chair in 2010.

2009 was a difficult year for many businesses, as well as for many of our friends and family. We all hope that 2010 will bring with it better economic times for all.

Currently, there are 544 members of the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, which is near record levels. This speaks volumes for the job the
chamber has done and your support of this organization. It is sometimes easy to eliminate the support of organizations during poor economic times, but
you have chosen to give your continued support to the Chamber, which is greatly appreciated.

Two of the areas the Chamber will continue to focus on in 2010 are as follows:

First, the Tourism sector of the Chamber will continue to aggressively recruit groups and organizations to Chippewa Falls. This year we have brought in the North American Ice Fishing Circuit, which currently has over 30 teams registered. We have two softball tournaments this summer that will bring in approximately 1,400 people to our community. This will be the 8th year for Oktoberfest. We will continue to support this great event that has given over $170,000 to charitable groups in the Chippewa Valley. We will also continue to support the Northern Wisconsin Fairground, which continues to be a valuable asset to Chippewa Falls.

Second, the Chamber will focus on getting the word out that Chippewa Falls is “Open for Business”. We will work with a marketing firm on developing a
marketing plan that will help us to positively promote Chippewa Falls as a good place to do business. We will begin looking forward and defining the
vision for Chippewa Falls and this Chamber for the next several years.

In closing, I want to once again thank you for your continued support of this Chamber and I hope that 2010 brings success to your businesses.
