Dear Chamber Members,
On behalf of the Chamber Board and staff, we would like to thank you for your continued support. I am consistently impressed with the commitment and professionalism of the board and the Chamber staff. Together we are looking forward to a promising 2012.
This year your Chamber is once again committed to working on the many challenges facing our community. One of the highlights is the work being done by the City on the Riverfront Development Project. The pieces of the puzzle are being put into place. The actual plan can be found on the City website as well as this website. While many challenges are ahead, your chamber remains committed to this project. This development will not only attract tourists it will also create jobs and maintain the vitality of our downtown.
As you all know, projects such as this and other important economic development issues only happen because of our strong community base and the cooperation of all the pertinent organizations. Together we must support our existing businesses and reach out to new businesses and opportunities. Your Chamber is committed to working with our local government and all of our economic development partners.
On a different economic note, the Tourism Division of the Chamber continues to market the Chippewa area to both leisure and group travelers. We are excited to announce that recently, we have secured - in partnership with the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport - the American Barnstormers Tour on August 16 -18. We are also partnering with the Hudson and Menomonie Chambers on a regional promotion of the Yellowstone Trail as it celebrates its 100th Anniversary.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you – more than 545 businesses strong - for your continued commitment to the Chamber. The Chamber belongs to you, our members, who do things most people think just happen.
Sincerely,
Tim Fries
