Lake Wissota State Park

Lake Wissota State Park has something to offer the entire family. Camping, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and horse trails, fishing, swimming, playing, learning and relaxing.

Lake Wissota State Park has 81 well-spaced campsites designed for privacy, picnic areas and a wonderful sandy beach.

The park also rents canoes and has a list of businesses which rent fishing boats. They also have a permanent pier for fishing and a public access to the lake.

Enjoy over 11 miles of scenic trails along Lake Wissota's shores, woodland, prairie, lowland forest and marsh areas. The trails are perfect for hiking or biking. There is also an 11 mile horse trail. In the winter 7.5 miles are groomed for cross-country skiing. In fact, the park sponsors two candle light skis one in January and the other in February. Snowshoeing is also permitted in the park except on the groomed trails. There is 4.75 miles of snowmobile trail connecting the county's elaborate snowmobile trail system of more than 150 miles.

This 1,030- acre park has many different nature trails throughout it. Facilities include
69 campsites, picnic areas, electricity, shelters, flush toilets, playgrounds, athletic field, swimming beach, and hiking trails. Vehicle admission fees are required.

Chippewa Moraine Ice Age Reserve

Ice Age Trail

One of nine units of the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve, containing a segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. The Visitor Center is open year around, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily and features displays and films describing the area's unique glacial geology and its natural history. Naturalists answer questions and offer activities for children. There are over 9 miles of hiking trails in the reserve, including 4.5 miles of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Located 7 miles east of New Auburn, and 1.9 miles east of Hwy 40, on Co Hwy M. 13394 Co Hwy M, New Auburn; 715-967-2800

In 1906 William Irvine had a dream to establish a reserve that would enhance and protect the Chippewa Valley environment. Mr. Irvine then donated a number of acres to the city for this purpose. The size of the park has grown throughout the years and is now 318 acres. It has been a recreational resource of pride for Chippewa Falls residents and visitors for many years.

Mary E. Marshall Park
Bridgewater Avenue, Chippewa Falls, across the road from Irvine Park. Marshall Park has much to offer - a lighted ball diamond, three lighted tennis courts, skate board park, two acre open play area, ice skating rink, warming house and year around restrooms.

William and Gertrude Casper Family Recreation Park
Canal Street and Old Eau Claire Road, 60 acre outdoor sports complex, 4 softball fields and 4 soccer fields, a baseball field and playground equipment.
