Construction is scheduled to start on Monday, July 13 and be completed Mid-September.

Construction includes:

  • Installing a traffic signal at the intersection of WIS 178 and Olson Drive
  • Making access modifications at the adjacent intersection to the north, WIS 178 and Cashman Drive, by eliminating left-turn and through movements from the Cashman Drive approaches
  • Once the project is complete:
      • Left and right turns from WIS 178 onto Cashman Drive can still be made.
      • Right turns from east- and westbound Cashman Drive onto WIS 178 can still be made.
      • Cashman Drive traffic wishing to cross or make a left turn onto WIS 178 will be redirected south along Cashman Drive to use the traffic signal at WIS 178 and Olson Drive.

Construction will be broken up in the following stages:

  • During stage 1, WIS 178 and side roads will remain open to traffic with shoulder closures being utilized during traffic signal installation.
  • During stage 2, side road approaches at the WIS 178/Cashman Drive intersection will be closed to traffic, and local traffic will use the WIS 178/Olson Drive intersection, and temporary pedestrian facilities will be used for the shared-use path on the west side of the WIS 178/Cashman Drive intersection.
  • During stage 3, WIS 178 and side roads will remain open to traffic with single-lane closures on WIS 178.

Access to the Old Abe State Trail will be maintained throughout construction using temporary accommodations.
