Community invited to dine out and give back during Open Door Clinic's Meet to Eat fundraiser Aug. 6

A night out for dinner can make a lasting difference in the lives of local residents when the Open Door Clinic hosts its annual Meet to Eat fundraiser on Thursday, Aug. 6.

As the Open Door Clinic celebrates 20 years of serving the community, six restaurants throughout Chippewa County will donate 25% of diners' bills to support the Clinic's mission of providing completely free physical and mental health care, medications, and support services to uninsured adults.

"We're incredibly grateful for the restaurants, sponsors and community members who make Meet to Eat possible each year," said Kim Renaud, RN, Clinic Coordinator for the Open Door Clinic. "Every meal purchased helps ensure that someone in our community can receive the health care they need, regardless of their ability to pay. It's a simple way for everyone to make a meaningful impact."

Participating restaurants include:

  • Anderson's Chic-n-Fish, 615 W. Park Ave., Chippewa Falls
  • Harms Way Bar and Grill, 1103 15th Ave., Bloomer
  • Horizons Bar, Grill and Event Center, 10764 County Hwy. Q, Tilden
  • Old Abe's Supper Club, 17256 155th Ave., Jim Falls
  • SandBar and Grill, 17643 50th Ave., Chippewa Falls
  • Xpeditions/TowneHouse Coffee and Eatery, 1319 Main St., Bloomer

No tickets or registration are required. Diners who visit any participating restaurant on Aug. 6 will have 25% of their bill donated to the Open Door Clinic. Guests will also have the opportunity to enter a door prize drawing, and winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawing to win.

Since opening its doors in 2006, the Open Door Clinic has relied on the generosity of volunteers, donors, business partners and the community to ensure uninsured individuals have access to quality health care.

"Meet to Eat demonstrates what makes our community so special," said Joel Siegel, Open Door Clinic Board Member. "Local restaurants and residents come together for one evening, but the impact lasts all year. Every person who chooses to dine out that night helps provide hope and healing for a neighbor in need."

The Open Door Clinic extends its appreciation to this year's Meet to Eat sponsors: Aspirus Health, A to Z Embroidery and Screen Printing, Brown Builders General Contractor, ChemCeed, Fries Financial Group, Leinenkugel's, Marine Credit Union Foundation, Mower Sperry Insurance Agency, Northwestern Bank, Scheel's, and Thrivent.
