Free Soil Health Workshop Planned in Chippewa County on August 14, 2025

The UW–Madison Division of Extension is hosting a Soil Health Workshop on Thursday, August 14 from 9:30am to 1:30pm for those farming, managing land, or working with landowners in the Yellow River watershed.

The workshop, hosted by Polzin Farm, 8492 County Highway XX near Cadott, will showcase how different management practices conserve soil and nutrients, and participants will see the results of different management in real time with a rainfall simulator. The first 15 farms/crops consultants to register can also receive a Free-soil health assessment kit and learn how to use it to measure compaction, infiltration, and soil stability in their own fields.

Registration is free and lunch is included. Please pre-register by August 7 to ensure enough meals and handouts are available for all participants. Space is limited and priority for soil assessment kits) will be given to those farming or managing land/working with landowners in and around the Yellow River watershed.
