Alfalfa Quality and Inter Seeding with Corn Silage Casual Field Day

UW Madison Division of Extension Regional Livestock Educator Ryan Sterry and Regional Crops & Soils Educator Jerry Clark for Chippewa, Dunn, and Eau Claire counties will be hosting a casual field day on May 21, 2025, from 10:00 am – 11:30 am at the Chippewa County Farm Plots.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Observe alfalfa inter-seeded with corn silage from the 2023 and 2025 growing seasons
  • Estimate alfalfa quality using PEAQ (Predictive Equations for Alfalfa Quality) measurements
  • Scout for alfalfa-damaging insects affecting stand health
  • Learn the basics of starting a forage inventory for improved management

No registration is needed. There is no cost to attend.
