West Central WI Manufacturing and Workforce Summit at UW-Stout
UW Stout office of Corporate Relations & Economic Engagement, in partnership with the Manufacturing Alliance of Western Wisconsin and Momentum West, present a series of conversations on Manufacturing and workforce. This event will offer discussions on innovative polymer 3D printing, cyber security, AI, and an introduction to Lean Manufacturing. In addition to these discussions, you'll learn about the Wisconsin Center for Manufacturing Productivity's annual report, which will help develop knowledge and skills related to manufacturing.

The event will take place at UW Stout's Memorial Student Center, Ballrooms A-C, on Tuesday, October 7, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Admission is $35, lunch provided.

  • 1:30 PM- Introduction to Lean Manufacturing with Legos Simulation
    • Participate in a hands-on introduction or refresh your knowledge of lean MFG presented by the Manufacturing Outreach Center. You learn to identify the 8 great wastes and how to apply lean tools to eliminate them in a simulated manufacturing process using Legos. You will also see how AI can be integrated into your manufacturing process for inspection and quality control.
