Share Your Hometown Pride This National Travel and Tourism Week

National Travel and Tourism Week (May 3 – 9, 2026) highlights the power of travel and its vital role in supporting local communities. This year, the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber’s Tourism Division, GO Chippewa County is celebrating with a creative postcard campaign that invites residents to get involved.

Beginning May 3, locals can stop by participating businesses throughout Chippewa County to fill out a free postcard featuring exclusive artwork by local artist Des Sikowski-Nelson. Each postcard offers residents the chance to write a message inviting others to visit and experience all that makes Chippewa County special, with free postage covered by GO Chippewa County. As an added incentive, each completed postcard will be entered for a chance to win one of two $50 Chamber Buck$ prizes.

“I have always wanted to draw different locations in the Chippewa Falls area,” said Des Sikowski-Nelson, the artist behind the postcard designs. “The entire community and county, inspires me to do more, with its diverse and rich history, arts, entertainment, and recreation. I’m proud to call it home.”

“Chippewa County is full of experiences waiting to be discovered, and National Travel and Tourism Week is the perfect time to highlight that,” said Ellie Peabody, Tourism Director with the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. “We love inviting visitors to explore our local restaurants, trails, lakes, shops, and events, and to see firsthand what makes this place so unique.”

Postcards are available at Eevy Ivy Over, Country Inn & Suites, Dixon’s Autumn Harvest Winery, 1917 Lake Wissota, River Jams, River Bend Winery & Distillery, Max’s on the Lake, Eastbay Lodge, Dylan’s Dairy, and the Chippewa Falls Visitor Center.
