Marshfeild Medical Center-Eau Claire Earns National Recognition for Maternity Care Excellence

Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire continues to distinguish itself as a leader in maternal health, earning multiple recognitions for its commitment to safe, high-quality maternity care.

The hospital has been named a High Performing hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report, placing it among the top maternity care providers in the country. This designation is based on evaluation of outcomes and practices, including low C-section rates, strong breastfeeding support and access to midwife-led care. Marshfield Medical Centers in Marshfield and Rice Lake were also high performing in this area.

In addition, MMC-Eau Claire has also achieved the Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care (ACPC) from The Joint Commission, a distinction that recognizes hospitals that provide integrated, evidence-based care for both uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies. This certification shows the commitment to improvement maternal and neonatal care through collaboration, standardized clinical practices and continuous performance measurement.

MMC-Eau Claire also had maintained the “Birthing-Friendly” hospital designation by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, along with hospitals in Marshfield, Minocqua and Weston, further underscoring its leadership in maternal care.

Eau Claire’s birth center offers a comprehensive range of services, including private labor and delivery suites, a dedicated C-section room, and a Level II nursery capable of caring for babies born as early as 35 weeks.
