Black Hawk claimed its second title in winning the Chippewa Valley FFA Land Evaluation Invitational held at Riverview Farm near Boyd. Dan, Jackie, and Matthew Holub and Ali and Taylor Straschinske hosted 87 students representing seven schools from western and southern Wisconsin.

Students evaluated four unique soil pit locations in relation to the land and surrounding environment. Team score totals were determined using the top three scoring individuals from each team.

Black Hawk racked up an impressive team total of 821 points, well ahead of second place Fall Creek with 669 points. Clear Lake finished a very close third with 668 points. Rounding out the scoring field were Stanley-Boyd 641 points, Cochrane-Fountain City 634 points, Cadott 564 points, and Chippewa Falls 539 points.

Individuals from Black Hawk swept the individual scoring titles to pace the school to its victory. Mason Schultz led all scorers with 290 points followed by teammates Payton Stietz 268 points and Dalia Williams with 263 points. Other top scorers included:

Bailey Sikora, Stanley-Boyd, 247; Taylar Marette, Clear Lake, 236; Kaylyn Johnson, Fall Creek, 235; Reese Schiszik, Fall Creek, 223; and Maddy Dorsey, Clear Lake, 222

The event was coordinated by the Chippewa County Land Conservation and Forest Management Department and the Chippewa County Division of Extension Office.
